At least they could be honest. It’s so irritating when the Tories seek to pull the wool over our eyes. Over the weekend the Red Cross stated that the, “British health care services was facing an humanitarian crisis.” Those are words used for war-torn countries. As one of the co-founders of the Keep Our NHS Public, Dr Jacky Davis says, the STPs, "slash, trash and privatise." The STP for Cornwall has recently been published and Cornwall faces £264 million cuts in expenditure. With Care homes closing, Treliske on black alert because it's run out of beds and mental health patients leaving the county for care, this is unacceptable. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said "this is a national scandal" and the NHS "crisis" was "unprecedented".

However, as things stand Article 50 isn’t just for Christmas and we must hold the Government to account through 2017 and beyond, their negotiations must not be allowed to cost jobs and prosperity for the people of Britain.

The decision to raise the cap on student numbers at the Tremough Campus has been deferred until March.  Campaigners against University expansion breathed a sigh of relief. Reported in The Packet on Thursday 5 January 2017, Councillor Webber said his deferral was based on two points: "Further information on purpose built accommodation figures to improve the situation in Falmouth," and information "from the universities in regards to their business plans for the rim and hub."
