Jeremy Corbyn pledges, “a national education service to all throughout their lives.” This will be radically different from this Tory government’s determination to increase the number of grammar schools - schools which benefit the few while creating inequality and lasting scars on children who fail to be offered places in them. A Labour government will bring about the progressive restoration of free university education and provide quality apprenticeships for all who want them.

Rebuild and Transform | Part One | Fiona Ranson, Newcastle

Part one of our series where people from across Britain explain how we will rebuild & transform their communities.

Here Fiona explains how our National Investment Bank, National Education Service and arts policy will transform her community so that no one is left behind again.

Come and join us in Truro and Falmouth on National Campaign Day - Saturday 1 October

The lack of Political authority is not the problem right now. The whole country is looking to Westminster for direction, as are markets, but not it seems the people who seem to be mostly apathetic outside the Euro debate. With every week that passes, it becomes clearer that it’s not possible to work out a plan for Brexit on the fly. It must be done in the mists of the EU negotiation. This enormous task requires a stable government in charge to provide leadership to the disoriented and exhausted civil service, along with the normal legislative process.

So what happens now?

Constituency parties now have the chance to nominate six representatives for Labour’s National Executive (NEC). The Centre Left Grassroots Alliance, representing democratic socialist groups across the centre and left of the Labour Party, is promoting candidates who will stand up for the rights of party members and will support the democratically elected Labour leadership’s progressive policies so that we win over the voters. We welcome all the new and returning members. Ballot papers to elect the NEC will be with you shortly.

Kirsty Hall in her blog post, BREXIT was a Con, compared the EU Referendum with the Scottish Referendum.

She said, "during the Scottish independence referendum, the Scottish SNP government published Scotland’s Future, a document laying out how an independent Scotland would work and addressing issues such as finance, the EU, currency and other issues.

"It was a 670 page document and published a whole 10 MONTHS before the referendum and it was meticulously analysed point-by-point by both voters and the press. It was very thoroughly put under the microscope and in the end found slightly wanting, mostly on the issues of currency and the ability of an independent Scotland to retain membership of the EU.

"It was made abundantly clear to voters that it was a big decision and if they were going to vote for Yes For Change and risk destabilising their country, they had better be very sure." Read full text

David Cameron’s decision to resign before enacting Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, which sets out how a country could leave the EU, may have much bigger implications for Conservative hopefuls eyeing up the Prime Minister's seat than they bargained for.

Hi,

We would like to say thank you all in the Truro and Falmouth CLP for all the work put in during the Brexit campaign. Today we face a poorer grimmer future. A Tory leadership election, which will provide a mandate-less PM. A Scottish nation that will demand independence and a Britain that is far more divided than that we have ever known. Yet we must move on. We will deal with the situation as we find it.

So I say again, thank you for all you time and energy.

Cheers from Candy and Brod

Don't get angry, organize!

Thanks
