Ian Hodson from the Baker's Union gave a tub-thumping speech at the Stop the Purge meeting. He said, "the purge is designed to disorganise the left and stop working class people organising for socialist politics". Activists also heard a speaker for the Reinstate Di Coffey Campaign. Di is the Vice Chair of the Falmouth Branch.

Jeremy Corbyn addresses the South West Fringe: Cornwall has the highest rates of poverty, inequality and precarious work. We have a real alternative for the people in Cornwall. We need to go out and win those people over to the Labour Party.

A government led by Jeremy Corbyn will address the scandal of the areas of the UK which were decimated by Thatcher’s government and neglected by subsequent governments. We will establish a publicly owned National Investment Bank and invest 500 billion in infrastructure. We will invest in well paid jobs, in homes, in transport, in energy.  We will transform the lives of millions of our people for the better.

Rebuild and Transform | Part Two | Michael Lloyd, Newcastle

Here Michael explains how our industrial strategy backed by our National Investment Bank, with a network of regional banks, will transform his community so that no one is left behind again.

Jeremy Corbyn pledges, “a national education service to all throughout their lives.” This will be radically different from this Tory government’s determination to increase the number of grammar schools - schools which benefit the few while creating inequality and lasting scars on children who fail to be offered places in them. A Labour government will bring about the progressive restoration of free university education and provide quality apprenticeships for all who want them.

Rebuild and Transform | Part One | Fiona Ranson, Newcastle

Part one of our series where people from across Britain explain how we will rebuild & transform their communities.

Here Fiona explains how our National Investment Bank, National Education Service and arts policy will transform her community so that no one is left behind again.

Come and join us in Truro and Falmouth on National Campaign Day - Saturday 1 October

The lack of Political authority is not the problem right now. The whole country is looking to Westminster for direction, as are markets, but not it seems the people who seem to be mostly apathetic outside the Euro debate. With every week that passes, it becomes clearer that it’s not possible to work out a plan for Brexit on the fly. It must be done in the mists of the EU negotiation. This enormous task requires a stable government in charge to provide leadership to the disoriented and exhausted civil service, along with the normal legislative process.

So what happens now?
