PPC Selection Hustings: A Message To All Members

Our members should have received this email from Dom Collins of the Regional Office today, but just in case...

Dear Member,

As you know, Truro & Falmouth CLP is in the process of selecting a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.

To take part in this selection you must have joined the Labour Party on or before 22nd August 2017 and your subscription must be currently up to date.

Hustings

The hustings event will take place at Penair School, St Clement, Truro, TR1 1TN on 28th April 2018, 2:30pm with doors opening from 1:30pm

Members are invited to bring along written questions which must be submitted by 2:15pm and be no more than 30 words in length. There will be a box in the canteen area into which the questions should be deposited. The NEC Representative will choose 10 questions which will then be asked of all candidates.

There can be no questions on financial means of support, or referencing any candidates’ protected personal characteristics under the Equality Act: age; disability; gender reassignment; marriage and civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; race; religion or belief; sex; and sexual orientation, shall be permitted. Neither should there be any questions about a candidate’s domestic circumstances, nor any pertaining to the candidate’s or the constituency party’s financial arrangements or possible support for the constituency from affiliated organisations.

Postal Votes

The deadline to apply for POSTAL VOTES has now passed. However you are still able to apply for an Emergency Postal Vote up until the 23/4/2018. To do so please contact me at dominic_collins@labour.org.uk
