Robin Johnson standing in Arwenack for Falmouth Town Council
Arwenack ward, in Falmouth town, must be one of the nicest places in the country to live. Why then do we need Labour councillors, on the town, or the county, council?
Falmouth has one of the liveliest, most forward-looking town councils in the country. It wins awards. But we need to make sure that Falmouth keeps a go-ahead town council with an imaginative vision of what a town can be.
The town council works with many small businesses to make the town such a great place to live, to work, to shop, visit, and stage events that showcase all of Cornwall, its life and produce. I have been active in the Labour Party for many years, and I am also a member of the Co-op Party (they are twinned), and I firmly believe such co-operation is the basis of Falmouth’s future.
Now living in Falmouth I resurrected the science café discussions with Cafe Sci at the Poly, helping keep alive Cornwall’s – and Falmouth’s - once proud tradition at the forefront of science and engineering.
I also had a national reputation as an expert on mental health and homelessness. I am thankfully much less well known for playing the saxophone.
