I am your Labour Parliamentary candidate in the Truro & Falmouth constituency. I’ve lived and worked in and around Truro for twenty years and I’m passionate about fighting for a transformative Labour government.
I’m a longstanding Labour member and a committed trade unionist. I became an apprentice engineer in BT in Truro in 1997 and became a CWU workplace rep when I was 18, taking up both roles at a time when very few women were in these positions. So I’m a strong believer in equality and getting more women into Parliament.
I’ve served in branch, regional and national roles for the Communication Union, CWU and after taking time out to study at the Open University and start a family, I now run a small business providing an outdoor play and learning centre, and work as a Trade Union Education Tutor for both the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and Uni Global Union. So I’m passionate about lifelong learning and developing Labour’s vision for a National Education Service.
I’ve got a young family, I love our local area and will be standing to be the Labour Parliamentary candidate because I want the country that our children grow up in to be a fairer and more equal one with democratic socialist values at its heart.
I’ve spent years supporting a bold agenda for Labour and I believe we have a chance to secure this seat for Labour in government.
